The curtains in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) were made of a thick yarn. To make the yarn they took one strand of linen, one strand of purple wool, one strand of scarlet wool and one strand of turquoise wool. They then twisted these strands together into one. Then they took six of these big strands and twisted those together to make the curtains [Rashi on Shemos 26:1]. How many strands were used in total?

4 x 6 = 24 strands
